Join us as we head for the scenic woods and verdant fields of Chorleywood in Hertfordshire. Famous for the invention of modern British bread-making, this rural environment was found a few years ago to have the best quality of life of anywhere in the country.
At 9 miles, our trail will take us across a medieval common and along the picturesque valley of the River Chess. We will cross the county border into Buckinghamshire, hiking through hills and woods along the way. We will then head for the village of Chenies where King Edward Longshanks and his son Edward II, best known today from the epic movie Braveheart, used to stay while hunting in the surrounding forests.
We will be starting and finishing from Chorleywood Tube Station on the Metropolitan Line.
