Hertfordshire Forest Trail - Saturday 13 June
Details
Join us as we head for beautiful Broxbourne Woods in Hertfordshire.
With majestic oaks and centuries old hornbeam trees at the northern limit of their range, the forest is a National Nature Reserve of European importance.
Heading out along the scenic Hertfordshire Way, we will be walking the length of this picturesque woodland. Passing by a recreated Celtic village we will be following the path of an ancient Roman Road marked today solely by a leafy glade. Having made our way to the other end of the forest, our walk will also take us by a pretty country manor house that, in another era, was a spy training centre.
Meeting place: Moorgate train station (that gives us a direct train service) - by the Ticket office. The station is small, so it will be easy to spot the group. We will hold a 'Trailblazer' sign.
Meeting time: 10.00 am (leaving on 10.46 train)
Price: £5. Please pay before the trip using the secure PayPal link at the top. (London-Bayford rail fare is £8.53 return - one third off for railcard users or Group Save. You can team up for a minimum of three people for this on the day.)
