Sorry men, this is a women-only fireside chat webinar for women to learn from skilled and experienced female outdoors instructors in a safe environment to focus on female-centric topics that matter to women who want to try, or already do, hike in the winter.
Join TrailBound Project instructors Nancy Purnell & Amanda Amabile for a 2-hour online event about gear, safety, and preparedness for women hiking in the winter.
There are so many choices when it comes to winter hiking - what are good trails to hike in the winter, what traction devices to use, boots and hats, and all the layers in between. With winter upon us, it's important to be prepared for chilly days and varying trail conditions. We will touch on proper layering, moisture management, traction devices, as well as any other topics that come up from you!
In particular, winter traction devices vary in design, materials, and functionality depending on the terrain and conditions you find yourself in. We'll discuss the different kinds, and even go over brand recommendations for microspikes and snowshoes.
It will be a relaxed, free-flowing format with time for open discussions. As always, there will be time set aside for YOUR questions on ANY other hiking or backpacking topic. The most learning happens when relevant questions are asked, and we can all benefit from the discussions that ensue. If you have a question, then you can bet others are seeking the same knowledge.
