Our events typically fill up at 16 people for guided backpacking trips! You won't see the attendees here on meetup as registrations are on our site but we wanted to let you know that we typically see large outings for all of our events!

A women-only guided Backpacking trip led by experienced and capable female TrailBound Project instructors and guides. It's an opportunity for women to connect with other women who share a love for the outdoors and want to forge friendships for future adventures and be a part of the women's outdoor community. It also allows a safe environment to focus on female-centric topics that matter to them.

This intro-level backpacking trip is a perfect first-ever trip, or if you haven't been backpacking in many years, to take it easy, try out gear, and refresh on skills.

NOTE: This counts as your first "intro" trip toward your Backpacker Rocker. The educational components mirror the other "intro" trip version that's open to both men and women.

It will be an easy 1-night backpacking trip with a round-trip total of 2 to 4 miles and 500' to 1,000' of elevation change, depending on which route we choose based on how the group feels that day. Much of our time will be in camp, which happens to have an incredible view, learning, connecting, and enjoying ourselves. We'll be teaching about backpacks (recommendations, adjusting them, packing them), tents and choosing campsites, minimizing risk, LNT (leave no trace), waste and sanitation, women-specific safety considerations, basic backpacking skills, the 3 Ps (peeing, pooping, and periods), food storage, self-care, getting a good night's sleep in the woods, and any other topics that come up.

Don't have gear yet? You can use OUR gear. If needed, you can rent a backpack, tent, and/or sleeping pad for $5 each. The guides will have all the other important gear like first aid kits, fire kits, water filters, and stoves/cooking gear. All you need is a sleeping bag or blanket if it's warm out, a small pillow, a headlamp, 4 liters of water in bottles and/or a hydration bladder, food & snacks, eating utensils, personal toiletries, clothing for the weather, and hiking boots. A detailed packing list will be emailed to students after registration and you can contact us with any questions.

So join us for what will be an incredible learning and bonding women-only experience!

Be sure to add a rental backpack, tent, and/or sleeping pad to your cart before checkout if needed.

Minimum Age: 12 years old - the minor(s) and a parent/guardian must all be paid registered participants.
