Our events typically fill up at 16 people for guided backpacking trips! You won't see the attendees here on meetup as registrations are on our site but we wanted to let you know that we typically see large outings for all of our events!
We've passed the intro level, but there's still more to learn and practice. This easy-level backpacking trip continues where the intro left off, to increase your self-sufficiency and confidence to spend nights out safely in the backcountry.
This is another easy 1-night backpacking trip with a roundtrip total of 8 miles and 1,200' of elevation change which is a bit longer and slightly more challenging than the intro trip. Much of our time will still be in camp learning, connecting, and enjoying ourselves. We'll continue where we left off by teaching about sleeping bags & quilts, sleeping pads, stoves & fuel, backpacking foods, dehydrating, food storage and bear hangs, water filtering, footwear, and any other topics that come up.
By now you should have your own backpack & tent, but if you don't you can still use OUR gear. If needed, you can rent a backpack, tent, and/or sleeping pad for $5 each. The guides will have all the other important gear like first aid kits, fire kits, water filters, and stoves/cooking gear. All you need is a sleeping bag or blanket if it's warm out, a small pillow, a headlamp, 4 liters of water in bottles and/or a hydration bladder, food & snacks, eating utensils, small knife, 75’ paracord, small carabiner, small stuff-sack or waterproof bag to hang your food, personal toiletries, clothing for the weather, and hiking boots. A detailed packing list will be emailed to students after registration and you can contact us with any questions.
Be sure to add a rental backpack, tent, and/or sleeping pad to your cart before checkout if needed.
Minimum Age: 12 years old - the minor(s) and a parent/guardian must all be paid registered participants.
