Hiking - Laurel Highlands (Experienced) - 19 Miles

Our next Rachel conditioning hike will return to the beautiful Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail (LHHT). This event will coincide with a camping event at our campground near Mt. Davis, so please be sure to check that out as well if you’d like to get the full Trail Buddies experience and the best we have to offer.

This will be a point to point hike and begin at mile post 0 in Ohiopyle and go to mile post 19 at Route 653. As you can see from this printable map, this hike will offer plenty of elevation. We’ll break for lunch at the Ohiopyle shelters for one hour to refuel and enjoy some serenity before continuing on towards Route 653, so be sure to pack a lunch and plenty of liquid of your choosing to stay nourished and hydrated. You may also want to consider bringing a water filter in case you'd like to refill your bladder along the way, since we'll be crossing plenty of streams.

We'll meet at the Route 653 trailhead at 8:00 AM and drive to Ohiopyle in as few vehicles as possible. The drive should take between 20 and 25 minutes, so we should be ready to hike around 8:30 AM. If you need to contact me, please do so before 8:00 AM, since phone reception in the Ohiopyle valley is poor. This event will either conclude after our hike or continue on to our campground if you choose to join us for extended quality tramily time.
