HIKE FIVE TRAILHEADS/START TRAILWALKER QUALIFICATION
Details
Florida Forestry has utilized The Trailwalker Program to encourage hikers to discover the Florida State Forests.
The CONCEPT — hike ten trails in at least five different forests, receive a TRAILWALKER patch. Do it again, receive a TRAIL BLAZER chevron. Do it a third time, receive a TRAIL MASTER chevron. Connect all three and they’re yours to display on your shirt, cap or backpack. (See Photos.) For those who participated last year, Trail Homies is hiking five new trails in 2026.
A wall certificate, a nail-on medallion for your walking stick, a T-shirt, and two (2) reflective bumper stickers are included. (The patch, t-shirt, stickers, certificate and medallion are pictured below.)
Visit The Trailwalker Program for details. (The meetup platform isn't linking this yet, so visit www.trailwalker.fl-ag.com) Florida Forestry will allow you to count any trailheads you've already hiked toward your first badge.
We will stop for breakfast and dinner, even if it's fast food. Bring a lunch that you can eat while hiking. The average distance of each trail is less than two miles.
The cost to Trail Homies is $21. Please sign up only if you are certain to go. There are no refunds.
