Aurora Reservoir (stand up paddleboard, kayak) - ALL levels, kids welcome
Details
Aurora Reservoir is an unknown gem just several miles east of Denver proper. The water is clean (good drainage and no motor boats unlike Chatfield and Cherry Creek), calm and there are a lot of coves to explore. If you are new to SUP (standup paddle boarding), this is a perfect venue! I can help you with your board and give you a few pointers, but really, SUP isn't all that hard :)
You can also bring a kayak, but please be patient with those on a SUP because we are a bit slower on the water.
WHAT TO BRING:
- $15 to get in and yes, they take credit cards.
- A SUP/Kayak/whatever vehicle you can use (no powered vehicles allowed), there might be some places to rent in town if they are still open.
- Life jacket as this is required. It just has to be on your conveyance, but if you are a poor swimmer - please wear it! I have 3 extra, so let me know if you need one....
- Whistle as this is required at Aurora Reservoir. I have these on my life jackets if you borrow one.
- Other items;
· Snacks!
· Water as it can get hot!
· Sunscreen
· Towel in case you fall in the water (it happens)
· Swimsuit or whatever you don't care about getting wet
· A sunglass neckstrap, so you don't lose those if you fall
· Sandals, boat shoes, etc. are highly recommended as there are some rocks in the water and we will probably be beaching a couple times. When on the water, I take mine off and strap to my board.
· Camp chair or something to sit on

If ever there was an event to not be late to, this is it! The Reservoir is large and we don't have a set route. You will probably not be able to find us if you get there late.
