Heart Lake Frozen

Join us on our 2nd attempt to see Heart Lake Frozen at Moffat Tunnel Trailhead for 11ish miles.

Due to the popularity of this hike in summer, please plan to get there at 6:45am or earlier for parking.

Carpools are encouraged and can be set up amongst yourselves in the event comments. Don't forget to chip in for gas!

Hikes are always subject to date/time change or cancellation due to weather, trail conditions or closures, or other unforeseen circumstances.

We'll start hiking promptly at the posted start time. Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to start time to prepare backpack.

We wait 5 minutes for late arrivals…but no longer as that is inconsiderate to those arriving timely. So please allow extra time to get to the trailhead and be ready for intros.

Keep in mind that YOU are responsible for your own safety. Please read the hike description carefully and to the very end and only sign up if you are confident, you can complete the described pace, expected conditions, RT distance, total climb, and max elevation. If it's within your capabilities, then sign up.

This will be a group hike, where everyone will wait at all trail junctions, and group pace is only as fast as our slowest hiker, so no one hikes on their own for safety reasons.
Plan on a moderate pace of 2 - 2.5 mph with stops for group pics at scenic spots, snacks, and lunch at the lake together.

We are not trained leaders, and by going on the hike, you agree that you are responsible for your own safety and absolve us of any liability and have read the entire event description.

Please RSVP, yes ONLY, if you definitely plan to come.
If you change your mind, please update your RSVP for consideration to those on the waitlist as this is limited to 12 due to James Peak Wilderness and must communicate in the event comments if dropping 3 or less days before the event or you will be docked off future events.
RSVP closes the day before at 3 pm, so no one will move to going last minute for everyone's planning purposes unless you msg me.
