Paddle or Kayak Lake Georgetown!

Details

Yes, it is the lake where people practice driving on ice in the winter!!! At 8500', so don't fall in. Also, not good for your first stand-up paddleboarding experience. You can also bring a kayak too, but please be patient with those on a SUP because they are a bit slower.

WHAT TO BRING:

  1. This is free!!!! Yes :)
  2. A SUP/Kayak/whatever vehicle you can use (no powered vehicles allowed).
  3. No clue on rental - don't know if the one place is still open. I will have to check.....
  4. Life jacket as this is required. Highly recommend wearing it at this level of cold water. I have 3 extra, so let me know if you need one....
  5. Whistle-I have these on my life jackets if you borrow one. I have a few extras to give out too!
  6. More;
    • Snacks!
    • Water as it can get hot!
    • Sunscreen
    • Towel in case you fall in the water (it happens)
    • Swimsuit or whatever you don't care about getting wet
    • A sunglass neck strap, so you don't lose those if you fall
    • Sandals, boat shoes, etc. are highly recommended as there are some rocks in the water and we will probably be beaching a couple times. When on the water, I take mine off and strap to my board.
    • Camp chair or something to sit on
