Eccles Pass - a Hard Hike to 11,900'

10 1/2 miles RT with 2,800' elevation gain./

We've done this hike the last 2 years in mid-July. In fact I copied most of Sean's description from last year, (because I can be lazy). This is a truly beautiful and favorite hike, particularly this time of the year, with wildflowers in bloom. It is a bit longer drive to Frisco, but well worth it.

Please bring your pack, smart layers, fluids, snacks, and good footwear. Don't forget your sun protection.

Average pace on the last hike was just over 2.3 mph, which is a fairly brisk pace considering the trail has over 2800' of elevation gain. This is an out-and-back hike, and we'll stop for a long break at the midpoint, overlooking the valley and distant mountains, per the photo.

There isn't a bathroom at the trailhead, other than behind a tree of your choosing.

Dogs are allowed on leash. Mine is bringing me. Be sure to clean up after your dog, as necessary.

Carpoolers meet at Woolly Mammoth Section GG at 6:15 to allow for enough time to drive to the Meadow Creek TH. Please comment below if you can drive or would like to ride. If you ride, be good to your driver.
