Snowmass Mountain

Lets hike 14er Snowmass Mountain 14,105’, class 3, approx 22 miles via the east slopes standard route. We’ll meet Saturday, August 22nd, 1 pm at the Aspen Highlands/Maroon Bells Welcome center and then shuttle to the trailhead . (Total cost of $16 per person for the shuttle.) We’ll then backpack in 8.5 miles to the upper dispersed campsites at Snowmass lake. (A small group permit allowing 4-5 people is booked. The total cost is $10 per person with a $6 reservation fee.)
We’ll then set up camp and begin our accent up Snowmass peak on Sunday, August 23rd at 4:30 am. We’ll return to camp, then backpack out 8.5 miles and catch a later afternoon shuttle back to our cars.
Previous class 3 14er experience required to join. Please join the waist list if you’re interested and I’ll add you to the trip based on availability and experience. I can only add 3-4 others total due to the permitted camping area.
