This is a group hike followed by a social dinner event at our Lodge near Government Camp.

There are two options for this event - this is the challenging hike, please see our Meetup event HERE for the easy hike - but either way we'll all meet at our Tyee Lodge near Government Camp for dinner and socializing after!

HIKE PLAN:
PLEASE read the hike plan before signing up! The mileage, snow travel, and ascent make this a CHALLENGING hike.

This is a hike of 10 miles and approximately 2500ft ascent, with the option add miles and ascent. I will explain later.

We'll be hiking at a walking pace of 2.0 mph pace, with breaks every hour at minimum

Distance: approximately 10 miles, 2500ft elevation gain.

Parking: America the Beautiful, NW Forest Pass is required

The plan is to start promptly at 9am from Paradise Park Trailhead #778 on Mt Hood: https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Paradise_Park_Trailhead
(45.31218,-121.81905). We shall hike uphill on Paradise Park trail #778 until we reach the junction with ZigZag trail #775. There may be some blowdown to navigate. We will have lunch and enjoy the views. There is an option to continue another mile to a viewpoint. The current plan is to do an out-and-back, returning on the Paradise Park trail to our cars, then head over to Tyee Lodge.

What to bring:
- Sturdy hiking boots/shoes
- Microspikes/Yaktrax are required - there will be snow travel
- Hiking poles recommended
- Lunch, snacks, water
- Clothing layers, rain jacket, gloves, hat, sunscreen

Disclaimer: Keep in mind, you are responsible for your own health and safety during and on the way to and from this event. Be informed and plan to be self-sufficient. Practice leave no trace, bring 10 essentials, research trail conditions, etc.

DINE:

A variety of dinner and dessert options will be served, and you are invited to bring your favorite dessert to share if you like.
