Trails Club of Oregon: July Membership Hike to Nesika Lodge

Greetings!

This loop hike is intended as an introductory trip to meet Trails Club of Oregon and/or for folks who haven't visited Nesika Lodge before - a chance for new folks to join in!

On the way to the Lodge, we'll visit the hidden ornament trail. If you're into it, do some research to see if you can figure out where it is ahead of time ;)

We'll stop for a nice visit at Nesika Lodge where our generous hosts will share goodies, hot soup and drinks (bring the rest of your lunch) - and hopefully a brief talk about the history of the Lodge. This hike fulfills qualifications for Trails Club of Oregon membership for those wanting to join the Club (trailsclub.org).

***Hike is 7-8 miles round trip, around 1,800 total feet elevation change.
***Pace is approximately 2 mph

***As always, bring 10 essentials, food and water, dress for weather and practice leave no trace.

MEET:
We'll meet 9+ miles up E Larch Mountain Road (45.5397704, -122.1169786) - right near the Larch Mountain Road snow gate - we'll be there on the left. We'll unlock the gate and drive to a spot 3.5 miles from the Lodge to park. The hike from there will be along the forestry road to Nesika (mostly downhill). The return route will be: Nesika Road, Larch Mtn Trail, Wahkeena Trail to Devils Rest to the cars.
