Red Shorts Trails, Bridal Veil Plateau (Class C TCO Membership Hike) - 12 miles

Greetings -

This hike is open to Trails Club of Oregon members as well as non-members ($2 fee for non-members).

We are going to meet at 8:30am Saturday morning at the Larch Mtn snow gate (mile 10 Larch Mtn Rd). We will drive in together past the locked Larch Mtn gate to the north and park 2.5 miles down Palmer Mill Rd, near Bridal Veil Creek. From there, we will explore some of the new-ish trails on Bridal Veil Plateau. We will tag Devil's Rest. There will be some offtrail.
We will visit an open Nesika Lodge for a late lunch and return to the cars. There will be snacks at the lodge. Please bring a lunch. There may be free TCO swag given out on this hike.

This is intended to be an adventure, exploring some new trails on the Bridal Veil Plateau. There will be some (good) surprises.

Distance: 12.0 miles (approximate)
Elevation Gain: 2800 ft
Offtrail: some short sections
Dogs allowed: experienced hiking dogs, yes

This hike is considered a Trails Club of Oregon Membership hike, if you wish to join Trails Club of Oregon as a member. Membership is completely optional for this hike.
Dogs are welcome, but keep in mind this is a long hike and dogs should have hiking experience.
We will hike at a brisk pace - 2 mph uphill and 3mph downhill. This is a full day of hiking.
A 5pm return time is only an estimate.

Bring sunscreen, hat, gloves for a short section of offtrail.
Bring water and a lunch.
