Hike to the Headwaters of Multnomah Falls (Advanced Class C: 15 miles, 4000 ft)

This hike is free for Trails Club members, and $2 for non-Trails Club members.
NOTE: THIS HIKE IS FIRST STOPPING BY NESIKA LODGE TO ALLOW FOLKS TO MEETUP WITH THE BEGINNER BACKPACK CLASS ON-TIME AT NESIKA.
FEEL FREE TO USE THIS HIKE AS A WAY TO ARRIVE AT THAT CLASS.

Full day hike:
Distance: 15 miles (approx)
Ascent: 4000ft (approx)
Offtrail: (yes - about 1 mile of non-technical offtrail)
Hiking speed: ~2mph uphill, close to 3ph downhill
Dogs: Sure, but they must be able to hike 15 miles with offtrail.
The full day hike will start from the gift shop entrance at Multnomah Falls. From there, we will hike up to Nesika Lodge for a short break, and drop off folks that plan on staying at Nesika Lodge for the Beginner Backpack Class that day.
Those that choose to continue on this hike will be taken up Larch Mtn to visit two lakes that feed into what becomes Multnomah Creek. There is a non-technical offtrail section of 0.5 miles to reach these lake. The lakes should be beautiful. The offtrail is not hard, but can be brushy in some sections with logs to navigate over.
After visiting the lakes, we will continue another 0.5 miles offtrail and ascend steeply (3rd class scramble) to Larch Mtn summit.
You may have hiked Larch Mtn many times, but you likely have not hiked it this way,
Bring: lunch and early dinner, hiking poles, extra socks, water, snacks, gloves, headlamp.
It will be a long, fun day. I hope to finish by dark, but I cannot guarantee that.
YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH OFFTRAIL HIKING TRAVEL.
THIS WILL BE A FULL DAY HIKE.
