Greetings -

We are going to do this again since this is a great low elevation hike during snow season and a repeat hike was requested by multiple folks.

This hike is free to TCO members and free to non-members. Note that there is a cost to park within the spa grounds.

Bonneville Hot Springs trails are now open, so let's go and hike the trails!
For the past 7 weeks, a team has been clearing the trails behind Bonneville Hot Springs, so the trails are clear.

Expect snow on the ground. Bring microspikes and hiking poles. Snowshoes not needed.

Where: Bonneville Hot Springs west parking lot - mossy parking area left of the main building as you enter. Please pay for your $10 parking pass first by going to the east side main entrance and paying there first at the front desk(cash/card). Then drive to the small west side mossy parking lot and look for TCO hikers.

When: 9:30am sharp. We will be hiking out from the TH at this time, so please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Parking Pass: $10 per car, paid to Bonneville Hot Springs.
Elevation gain: 1200 ft-ish
Distance: 8 miles-ish
Dog allowed on this hike: yes!
Please note the trailhead is open courtesy of Bonneville Hot Springs Resort & Spa. The day cost to park within the spa parking lot is $10/car. We will figure out how to pay. There should be a QR code on the building door to pay, or one can pay inside at the main entrance desk on the east side. A USFS pass is not accepted at this TH.
We will start off from the old Dick Thomas TH and hike the Two Chiefs trail as an out-and-back. We will return on the PCT and make a loop on the bypass trail.
Please bring: lunch, water, hiking poles, rain gear, headlamp and dog treats for my dog Rocket. It will be chilly - bring a raincoat, gloves and microspikes. It will likely be slippery.
Estimated return time is a rough estimate only.
Please feel free to use the Meetup chat for this trip to organize carpooling.
Trails Club of Oregon trip leaders are all volunteers and are not paid professionals or guides. Please remember you are responsible for your own health and safety during and on the way to and from this event. Please be informed and self-sufficient.
