Nesika Lodge Work Weekend

Details
IMPORTANT: There has been a slide on the basin road after the green gate. Forestry engineers are going to work on the road Monday the 16th. If the road is not cleared, the Meetup will have to be postponed.
Saturday June 21 – Sunday June 22 work weekend.
Drive or hike up to the The Trails Club of Oregon's Nesika Lodge for a work weekend! The Trails Club of Oregon purchased a Kubota vehicle that is a little wider than the Tractor. The Monster Trail needs to be widened about 12-18”. We will be digging and widening the trail. Bring gloves, work boots and appropriate weather clothing. Shovels are provided.
Access: We will meet at the main gate at milepost 10 on Larch Mountain Road at 9 am Saturday June 21st. There is limited cell service, if you do not have a gate key and will be later than 9AM please contact Trisha or Pete before 7AM Saturday morning to make arrangements. Please contact the host if visiting the lodge for the first time and need directions.
The road is accessible with 4WD, high clearance vehicles. 2WD vehicles must park at the gate inside and carpool, post a message in the thread below if need a ride to the lodge or have questions about the road.
Unfortunately, the tractor is not running, so supplies need to be carried from the parking lot. Plan to pack light and help carry food/supplies the ½ mile from the parking lot to the Lodge. Good News! The generator is working and will be available.
Food: Meals will be provided. Even if you have attended Nesika in the past, please contact Trisha if you have any food allergies or diet restrictions. Please confirm/edit your RSVP by Thursday, June 19th as I will be purchasing food on that day. Any cancellations or no-shows may be asked to pay for food purchased on their behalf.
Sleep: Cots are available in the wood stove-heated dorm, bring a sleeping bag/pillow. Or, bring a tent, there are several platforms and flat areas to set up.
Other amenities: A generator provides electricity for the lodge. A DVD player and games are available for entertainment. Potable cooking and drinking water is available, and flush toilets and showers. Cell reception is possible with most carriers. There are no garbage facilities in the winter, please expect to pack it out if you pack it in.
Pets welcome, but only service pets in the lodge or dorm.
Cost: No fees are required for those helping out this work weekend. Please plan to stay and help out with the lodge closing chores after lunch on Sunday.
