Historic Hike at Camp Namanu

Details
Come walk the trails of one of Oregon’s most beloved summer camps! This is a special opportunity to visit Camp Namanu, a 101-year-old site where generations of Portland-area children have laughed, learned, and made lifelong memories.
We’ll explore scenic trails along the Sandy River, share stories, and celebrate the history of this iconic place. Whether you’re a former camper, a curious newcomer, or just looking for a beautiful hike with good company, all are welcome. We will meet in the camp parking lot at 9 am.
Bring snacks, lunch, and water. Please wear sturdy boots or walking shoes. Most of the 4-5 mile hike will be on rustic trails and paths, which may have rocks, vegetation, or muddy spots. Bring hand pruners to help clip invasives as we hike, if you’d like.
📍10300 SE Camp Namanu Road, Sandy, OR 97055
Turn onto Namanu Road, a small gravel road marked with a Namanu sign. Continue down Camp Namanu Rd for 1.3 miles. The road is narrow, so drive cautiously. Veer right at the “Y” and park in the parking lot.
Let’s take a walk through time together!
You will be asked to sign a waiver.
Camp Namanu gladly accepts donations.
TCO members no charge. Non-members $2.
