Scary day hike to Nesika Lodge ( 8.5 miles, 2000 ft gain)

Let's meet in front of the bathrooms at Multnomah Falls Lodge and hike up to Nesika Lodge. We will hike up Wahkeena trail to Multnomah Basin Rd, then over to Nesika Lodge - a slightly longer route to the lodge.

Once on the Multnomah Plateau, my plan is to visit the Cougar Rock trail, Nesika Lodge and the Ornament Trail before returning back to Multnomah Lodge via the Larch Mtn Trail. This is a day hike for me, but others planning to stay overnight at Nesika are certainly welcome to join us!
This hike qualifies as a TCO membership hike.

Meetup: In front of Multnomah Lodge bathrooms
When: 8am sharp is when we shall start hiking up
Pass: Two parking options: 1) No pass nor fee needed if parking in the I84 highway parking lot. 2) The second option is parking at the Rt 30 parking immediately across the street from Multnomah Lodge at $20/day.
Distance: 8.5-ish miles
Ascent: 2000 ft ascent

This hike is available to TCO members (free) and TCO non-members for a $2 fee.
Pet Policy: Pets are welcome on this day hike, but we ask that pets stay outside Nesika lodge today.
Please wear hiking boots, suitable socks and rain gear. Hiking poles recommended.
We will stop inside Nesika Lodge around mid-day to eat our lunch. There is fresh water at the lodge. Please bring your own lunch and enjoy a tour of Nesika Lodge, which will be open.
