We will meet at Pendleton Woolen Mills at 7:00AM, in Washougal WA. THERE IS A SAFE PLACE THERE FOR CARS, then carpool to Macks Canyon. We will have cars shuttled to Mouth of Deschutes River by Linda's Shuttle Service in Maupin. Please let me know if you are interested in driving. Cost of shuttle is around 125$ per car. Passengers need to pay .20 cents per mile to driver each. Drivers will need to go to the web site and register their car.
Be prepared for cold nights. Weather is usually great even when raining in Portland.
Day one will be 6 miles, day 2 10 miles, Day 3 8 miles. Day one we go in and out of 7:culverts. Night 2 we will have an outhouse.
Along the way you will see mountain Sheep, Deer, possibly otters, raccoons, maybe a snake (usually too cold for snakes) and an occasional bear. Bring: tent, sleeping bag, ground cloth, waffle pad and blow up pad. ensure you have down coat, down pants or equal, wool shirt for sleeping. Extra socks. Food for 2 nights, 2 breakfast and 3 lunches. Bring cook stove, flash light, first aid kit.
