Join us for an unforgettable full-length traverse of Portland’s iconic Wildwood Trail—31 miles through the largest urban forest in the United States.
Be Part of the Wildwood Adventure — Your Way
This event is about more than miles—it’s about TCO, support, and showing up for one another.
This Wildwood End-to-End hike is being organized to support TCO member Emily Swenson, who was recently diagnosed with early onset dementia. Completing the full Wildwood Trail is on her bucket list, and I'm organizing TCO to come together to help make that goal a reality while we can.
Whether you hike every mile or simply play a small role along the way, you are part of something truly special.
Join as a Support Hero to assist Emily’s Wildwood Adventure
Not everyone needs to hike all 31 miles to make this special.
We are looking for TCO volunteers to be at key road access points along the Wildwood Trail, where the trail comes closest to roads. These locations are essential for:
- Providing water and food to TCO Members
- Offering basic first aid if needed
- Encouraging and motivating participants throughout the day
- Serving as safe exit points for those who need to stop early
- Shuttling hikers back to their cars
Your presence at these stops helps ensure that this long and challenging day remains safe, supported, and full of positive energy.
Not Ready for 31 Miles? You Can Still Join
You can still be part of Emily’s journey by:
- Hiking a shorter section of the trail
- Joining the group at a midpoint like Hoyt Arboretum or Pittock Mansion
- Walking a few meaningful miles alongside friends
- Showing up at a support stop to cheer everyone on
Every step—no matter how small—contributes to something bigger.
Why This Matters
This isn’t just a long hike.
It’s a day about lifting someone up, creating lasting memories, and sharing an experience that truly counts.
Together, we can help Emily achieve something incredible while building a stronger, more connected hiking community.
Whether you hike one mile, ten miles, or all thirty-one…
or hand a water bottle to someone pushing through mile twenty-six…
You are part of Emily’s Wildwood Adventure.
