Myths & Music
• What we'll do Stories just as they were told since time began - in a room of friendly faces bringing alive the imaginations of different times and places. Each month we gather to share wild, fantastic legends blended with some of the best live music in Amsterdam. Myths & Music is the culmination of four years of creating story and music events in Amsterdam, experience that helps us create the most intimate and intense events around. Hosted by storyteller Simon Hodges, with music curated by Christian Pabst, a raft of performers from Amsterdam’s cutting cultural edge welcome a creative community of people ready to be inspired by an oral culture that used to be commonplace but are now becoming scarce. Recent reviews “The stories were like music and the music like stories” “Such an atmosphere and intensity … I’d love to hear more!” “A place I can really be myself that I love to return to each month.” “It’s a break away from the digital world, it’s accessible, personal and warm, it puts my imagination to work and it makes me feel a sense of togetherness.” Beer, wine, tea and copious snacks are served in the magical space of Toon that we are honoured to call home. Tickets: €9 on the door / €7 in advance To book an advance ticket visit TOON, go to Chipta You can also join the event on Facebook: • What to bring • Important to know Please note this is a paid event in order to pay artists and involved and rent of the space.

What we're about

Public Group

Welcome to our Meetup for enjoying the power of stories, and learning to tell them. We have a mix of both cultural and training events around storytelling that allow you to learn how to tell great stories, and to experience their magic for yourself.

Each month we organise Myths & Music which is a social and entertaining celebration of culture. We also hold regular trainings where you can further your own story.

Unlike a lot of Meetups, these events are paid. The reason is to cover out own costs and expenses and to honour the value of what artists and trainers bring - as well as what they offer to your life.

Let us know how we can support your story through a particular workshop or event that you don't see covered in the near future. f you'd like, you can check out our larger story at
