Transit is shaped by the cities in which it runs, and those cities in turn are shaped by a variety of factors, both practical and spiritual. Washington's design--as one of the earliest planned cities--was particularly influenced by the ideas of its creator, Pierre L'Enfant. Come hear a brief presentation by Will Selman, founder of the Institute for Symbolic Urbanism, on the methodology used by L'Enfant to design the city of Washington. This will include a little background, touch on the design of the Washington Monument, and the metaphorical meaning behind it all.

We'll also choose our next outing; and award the Crest of the Completed Circle to those in attendance who successfully negotiated the Circulator loop last Saturday. Come one, come all!
