Washington’s Metrorail consists of six lines running on three sets of tracks.
In the city’s core, it’s possible to ride all six lines over short distances and in equally short periods of time. But just how fast can it be done? We’ll set out to discover how quickly a Metro passenger can meet the Six-Line Challenge!

We'll gather at **Metro Center**, on the southern Red Line platform near the kiosks that (at least used to) sell Metrocards and other items. (This is OPPOSITE the platform that leads to the Macy's entrance.) We'll commence our run with the ultra-short trip on the Red Line from Metro Center to Gallery Place. Then we turn south, riding the Green and Yellow lines in stages down to L'Enfant Plaza; then finally the Blue, Orange and Silver back to Metro Center.

Each participant will get a custom scoring sheet to chart our color-coded course! We'll take at least two runs and then retire to lunch at the Potbelly Sandwich Shop on 12th St.!
