Stopping Climate Change: What's Next? National Live Video Strategy Session

Details
Co-Hosted by Vanderbilt SPEAR (Students Promoting Environmental Awareness and Responsibility)
It's been two weeks since we got the good news about the President's decision to send back the Keystone XL Pipeline for re-review. Now the Tar Sands Action team wants our input on how to carry on the work to stop climate change and tar sands development. Please join us for a discussion and strategy session at Vanderbilt this Wednesday evening.
Even though the Keystone XL was postponed, this is not a permanent victory. The Keystone might be rerouted and approved, and there will be more projects like it proposed very soon. We should keep the momentum going to continue building the movement to stop climate change and tar sands development. To gather input from all over the country on what should come next, the Tar Sands Action organizing team is holding a nationwide Movement Strategy Session this Wednesday, Nov. 30.
The Nashville session on the Vanderbilt campus will begin by watching a live video chat led by the Tar Sands Action organzing team. They will lay out some of the ideas they have about what we could do next, outline a few possible campaigns, how they relate to Keystone XL and the tar sands, and what we could do to take action on each. Then, our Nashville group will discuss what we think should be the next steps in a national effort to stop climate change. We’ll report back to the Tar Sands Action organizers in a December 5th nationwide conference call, where people from all over the country will be providing feedback on what they want to do.
Please join us at Vandy this Wednesday as we build a Nashville group working to stop climate change – while we still can.
Buttrick Hall is in the center of the Vandy campus. A campus map is at http://www.vanderbilt.edu/map (Wait for map to load, then select Buttrick from the "Select a Building" pull-down menu.)
