Classic Book Club In Person Meeting: Lysistrata first half

Following our GREAT, EXCITING first meeting the initial piece to read together was selected: Lysistrata by Aristophanes! This play takes place during the peloponnesian war, and follows the plan of the women of these warring states to force their husbands to come home through a variety of means. The play is a comedy, one of 11 surviving comedies written by Aristophanes.

The format of our meetings will go as follows: general thoughts on the piece from each member, followed by discussion questions (posted Wednesday), favorite passages, and then general discussion again thereafter.
This meeting will be at the Starbucks at 40 West Lake, which can accommodate roughly 10 people.
The objective is to have the first HALF of the play (roughly, the conflict between the choruses) read by Sunday. If you haven’t read as far, and are more interested in observing the group and seeing if you are interested in participating, though, feel free to attend!
