HI USA Online Event: Traveling with Kids

Online event

Looking to give your children unique opportunity and once in a lifetime experiences? Join us as we talk about Traveling with children! In this workshop we will learn how children benefit from travel experiences (even domestic!) and practical tips and tricks for taking young people on adventures. Traveling with Children teaches parents and children how to look at (and live) life with open mind, how to be socially responsible when traveling, and how to have fun. HI USA volunteer, Tiffany Celeste-Nelson, will lead this workshop and share her personal stories of travel.

HI USA Online Event: Virtual Yoga

Online event

Join a Free Online Yoga Class every Saturday from 10-10:45 am central. Stretch, strengthen and relax while you practice remotely with guests around the country. Taught by HI USA Volunteer Megan Backes, a certified yoga instructor. Please find a social distanced location for the yoga class. If you have a mat, please feel free to use it but it is not required. We ask all participants to mute during the yoga. Use of video is optional. Please make sure to register for each individual yoga session that you would like to attend! About Megan: Never one to frequent the gym, Megan first discovered yoga in 2005 from the comfort of her living room. She initially learned yoga through power vinyasa videos, drawn to the graceful melding of energetic movement and strengthening poses within this practice. As Megan began exploring other yoga styles and instruction at a variety of local yoga studios throughout Chicago, she discovered the important role a knowledgeable teacher and warm community played in growing her yoga practice. Megan believes that yoga can be done anywhere - at home, at work, outdoors, while traveling - and that everyone should have the opportunity to practice yoga. After completing her 200-hour registered teacher training in 2019 at Bloom Yoga Studio in Chicago, Megan has focused on teaching community classes as a means of reaching those outside the traditional studio space while championing causes she is passionate about.
