Songkran is Thailand’s New Year and the most exciting festival in the country. Celebrated every year from 13–15 April, it’s famous worldwide for its massive water fights, street parties, music, and unstoppable energy.
But Songkran is more than just water splashing. Traditionally, water symbolizes cleansing, renewal, and good luck—washing away the past year and welcoming fresh beginnings. Locals visit temples, pour water on Buddha statues, and seek blessings from elders, while the streets turn into one giant celebration.
