Photo Walk - Cockatoo Island

Details
We have been lent the new Laowa 10mm f2.8 Zero-Distortion lens for testing and review and thought this would be a great opportunity to get some ultra-wide shots. Considering it has been so long since our last walk we thought we would hold an event simultaneously. Whether you use Sony mirrorless cameras or not this is a great chance to see how this magnificent lens performs. Everyone is welcome to join, however, you will only be able to test the lens if you have a Sony camera or a camera and adapter that accepts Sony E-mounts.
We'll meet at Cockatoo Island outside the Information Centre (just near the wharf) at 10:00am.
The easiest way to get to Cockatoo Island is by public ferry. The F3 and F8 services operate to Cockatoo Island daily, departing from Circular Quay and Barangaroo as well as from wharves along Parramatta River. For further information, including timetables, visit the Transport NSW website.
Ferry Information - please check departure times on the day. Below is just a guide.
- Barangaroo to Cockatoo Island departs at 9:38 am and arrives 9:48 am
- Circular Quay to Cockatoo Island departs at 9:27 am and arrives 9:48 am
- Rydalmere Wharf to Cockatoo Island departs at 8:58 am and arrives 9:43 am

The Photo Walk will take us to historic Cockatoo Island. Originally a convict settlement in the early 1800s and then became Australia's primary shipbuilding and repair facility until it's closure in 1991. The island is full of fabulous photographic opportunities, especially in the Industrial Precinct of the island.
There is also a cafe on the island where you can get food/drinks.
We will probably finish at about 1:00 pm however if you want to leave earlier/later just head back to the ferry stop. Ferries leave about every 20-30 minutes. There is a ferry timetable near the wharf.
