The Sviscaki trek is an immersive experience in Slovenia’s breathtaking natural landscapes, which we begin around 9.30am. It is a moderate to challenging trek of 25 km primarily due to its length and elevation changes that will take us through diverse terrains of lush forests to rocky outcrops till we reach the summit of the mountain.
Hikers should have a reasonable level of fitness, as the trail can include steep sections and uneven terrain. It's advisable to wear sturdy hiking boots and to bring plenty of water and snacks, and consider our lunch stop to be 30 minutes.
The trek begins through dense woodlands, where you’ll be surrounded by towering trees and the sounds of birds singing. As we ascend, the trail opens up to breathtaking viewpoints that overlook valleys, rolling hills, and distant mountains. These panoramic vistas are perfect for taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of Slovenia’s natural landscape.
The trail is home to a rich variety of plant species, including wildflowers, ferns, and unique alpine vegetation. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, such as deer, foxes, and various bird species that inhabit the area. And we might even come across small mountain streams and cascading waterfalls depending on the route we take, if not unique rock formations and geology.)
