Join us to explore the Groeve route (12.4 km) on Sint-Pietersberg near Maastricht — a beautiful loop past the ENCI quarry, limestone cliffs and beautiful views. 🌿⛰️
Whether you are an introvert who likes to put on headphones during the hike or an extrovert who enjoys chatting and talking about anything from mundane daily life to the secrets of the universe, you are all welcome!

🗓️ Date & ⌛ Time
We gather on Saturday, December 13th at 10:30 AM inside the Maastricht Central Station at its main entrance. We will wait 15 minutes and then start at 10:45 AM. Then we will share our live location in WhatsApp group for others who arrive late (see the link to the WhatsApp group below).

🗺️ The Hiking Path
We will start and end our hike from the Maastricht central station.
You can see the hiking route on Komoot. This route has been inspired by natuurmonumenten, so to know more about the area you can check it out.

🎒 What to Bring
• Hiking shoes or waterproof boots 🥾 and good winter socks 🧦. There may be rain or wet grass, which can quickly make running shoes or other light shoes wet.
• Warm layers plus a Waterproof Poncho, an umbrella will not work well! If you carry a backpack you might need a rain cover for it too.
• Gloves 🧤, hat, neck scarf 🧣 and/or anything else to keep your neck and head warm. It will be cold!
• Water + lunch or snacks

• In case of rain, the hike will go ahead as planned. This is the Netherlands and it is impossible to avoid rain at outdoors!
• In case of a code orange or red weather warning the hike will be canceled even with short notice.
