Introduction
Ready to travel the world in a single day — without leaving the Netherlands? This time we trade the open trail for eight habitats stitched together across 45 hectares, and let Burgers' Zoo carry us from a steaming tropical rainforest to an African savannah and down beneath a living coral reef.
Royal Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem is one of Europe's most ambitious zoos: animals here live in vast "ecodisplays" that recreate their natural worlds. Wander through Bush, the world's largest indoor tropical rainforest, feel the dry heat of the Desert, drift past sharks and the largest living coral reef in any aquarium outside Australia in Ocean, then come face to face with rhinos, zebras and giraffes out on Safari. Add Rimba, Mangrove and the open Park, and you've got more than 500 species to meet along the way.
Whether you prefer to soak in each habitat in peaceful silence, or you're the type who can't help striking up a conversation with everyone you pass — there's a place for you here!

🗓️ Date & ⌛ Time
On Sunday June 21st we gather on 10:45 at the meeting location described below. We'll wait 15 minutes and head into the park together at 11:00.
Once inside, we'll share our live location in the WhatsApp group of this meetup so anyone running late — or anyone who wants to wander off and rejoin — can find the group easily.

🗺️ The Meeting Point
We'll meet outside at the main entrance of Burgers' Zoo:
📍 Antoon van Hooffplein 1, 6816 SH Arnhem

🎒 What to Bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes 👟 — it's a big park and you'll be on your feet for hours moving between habitats.
  • Layers you can peel off 🧥 — Bush and the other tropical domes are warm and humid, while Safari and the outdoor sections follow the weather. Easy layering keeps you comfortable in both.
  • Water and snacks 💧 — there are restaurants and cafés in the park if you'd rather buy food, but bringing your own is welcome too.

👉 Important

  • The zoo is a rain-or-shine day out — most of the highlights are indoors, so bad weather barely matters here.
  • Buy your ticket online beforehand so we can all enter together at the agreed time.
  • We'll move through the park as a loose group and regroup at key spots, but feel free to linger or explore at your own pace — that's what the live location is for.
