Eastern Sicily & Aeolian Islands Trekking Tour

Day 1: transfer from airport to hotel in Catania. Check in, accommodation in rooms, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Trekking Etna and Grotta dei Lamponi
Breakfast. Departure by private bus in the direction of the north side of Etna to Piano Provenzana, 1,800 masl. From here we start our medium difficulty trekking to discover the eruptive fracture and its craters (eruption 2002/2003). After crossing some lava fields you reach Rifugio Timparossa where you can make a short stop. It starts again through a stretch of wood in the direction of the Grotta dei Lamponi. Finally you return following the Altomontana Trail. Return by private bus to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Etna - Alcantara - Taormina - Lipari
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure of the Trekking Sicilia orientale for the Alcantara Gorges. Consider a real "canyon", born from the cooling of ancient lava flows, furrowed by the waters of the river of the same name: a spectacle of nature and one of the main attractions of Sicily.
The tour begins with a walk along the nature trail; here you can go for about 100 mt. inside the gorges and then enjoy some free time between the sun and). Continue to Taormina, for a guided tour of the historic center. Transfer by bus to Milazzo . Departure by hydrofoil to Lipari. Transfer from the port of Lipari to the hotel. Check in, accommodation in the rooms. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 : breakfast. Excursion to Salina. Itinerary: "The Fern Mountain"
Walking time: 4/5 hours. Km length: 8 Difficulty: Medium high
Departure by boat to the island of Salina. The route starts from the small village of Valdichiesa. A paved road leads to the sanctuary of Madonna del Terzito. Behind the sanctuary begins an old mule track that leads to Monte Fossa delle Felci, which with its 962 meters is the highest peak of the archipelago. Along the path you can observe different botanical species typical of the Mediterranean, chestnut woods and fern expanses. Free lunch. Return to Lipari in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5 : breakfast. Excursion to Vulcano. Itinerary: "Il Gran Cratere"
Walking time: 3,5 hours. Km length: 7,5 Difficulty: Medium
Departure by boat to the island of Vulcano. From the port the paved road leads to the interior of the island from where the path begins that allows you to reach the top of the crater "La Fossa". On the summit the environment looks like a "lunar landscape", with dust and crushed stone. Along the circumference of the crater there are gaseous sulfur emissions of yellow color, a clear sign of the presence of sulfur. Free lunch. Return to Lipari in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: breakfast. Free morning. Lunch at the hotel. Meeting with the guide and departure by boat to Panarea and Stromboli. You reach first the island of Panarea, where there will be some free time to visit the small and characteristic village. In the early afternoon we leave for Stromboli. Once on the island, the guide will accompany the group along a path (medium difficulty) that has as its final goal the "Sciara del Fuoco". Return to the village and departure by boat to Lipari in the evening.
Day 7: breakfast. breakfast. Excursion Alicudi and Filicudi. Itinerary: "A spasso nel tempo"
Departure by boat to the island of Alicudi. Once on land you can take a walk through the ancient mule tracks to immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of this magical island, where time seems to have stopped. Continue on to Filicudi. Free lunch. Return to Lipari in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8: breakfast. Check out. Transfer to the port of Lipari. Departure by hydrofoil to Milazzo. Transfer to Catania Fontanarossa. End of our service.
