Pintail Island Kayaking

Details

Join us for a Fall trip to Pintail Island. We’ll paddle around the island and in some coves to see the changing leaf colors among the cypress and tupelo trees. Birds are migrating and this area of Lake Marion is one of the places they often pass through. We typically see herons, egrets and ducks and sometimes during migration we see storks and ibis. This is a unique area that runs parallel to the Diversion Canal connecting Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie.

$35/person to rent kayak/gear- includes kayak, paddle, PFD, whistle and we bring to landing. Call 843-697-2812 by Friday, 9/26/25 for rental. Rentals are paid in advance with credit card and provided by Blueway Adventures.

$15/person for those bringing your own kayak/gear (BYOE). Whistle and PFD required by SCDNR. Kayaks 12' and longer are highly recommended. No inflatables permitted. You can bring cash day of paddle or call 843-697-2812 to prepay with credit card.

There are restrooms at this landing. There is a $5/car cash only parking fee paid to Big Oak Campground.

Bring water, snack/lunch, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, shoes that can get wet.

Trip duration varies depending on water/weather conditions and group. Return time is estimated.

Always happy to answer questions!
