Duck Pond Kayaking

The Duck Pond is a beautiful enclosed bay with a heron and anhinga nesting areas in a Cypress swamp in one section and flowers, gallinule, cormorants, green herons and an assortment of wildlife in another part. Water lilies and a few other flowers have started blooming. Expect to see alligators on this trip! You may also see a few fish tails breaking the water's surface.

We'll kayak along wooded island shorelines with Giant Grass and Cattails. Bring lunch or a snack for break on a sandy beach where we can watch Osprey and Bald Eagles.

We'll launch from a Fred L Day Boat Ramp on Lake Moultrie. Note there are no restrooms at this landing.

$35/person to rent kayak/gear- includes kayak, paddle, PFD, whistle and we bring to landing. Call 843-697-2812 by Friday, 4/10/26 for rental. Rentals are paid in advance with credit card and provided by Blueway Adventures.

$15 if bringing your own kayak/gear (BYOE). Whistle and PFD required by SCDNR. You can bring cash day of paddle or call 843-697-2812 to prepay with credit card.

Kayaks 12' and longer are highly recommended. No inflatables permitted.

Water, snack, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, shoes that can get wet are recommended.
