Pintail Island Kayaking

Explore quiet coves with colorful flowers like white water lilies, purple peckerelweed, yellow water primrose and more. The calm, quiet water gets you closer to great blue herons, great egrets, green herons and other waterfowl. Osprey and a variety of small birds are prevalent in this unique area that runs parallel to the Diversion Canal connecting Lakes Marion and Moultrie.

$35/person to rent kayak/gear- includes kayak, paddle, PFD, whistle and we bring to landing. Call 843-697-2812 by Wednesday, 4/22/26, for rental. Rentals are paid in advance with credit card and provided by Blueway Adventures.

$15/person for those bringing your own kayak/gear (BYOE). Whistle and PFD required by SCDNR. Kayaks 12' and longer are highly recommended. No inflatables permitted. You can bring cash day of paddle or call 843-697-2812 to prepay with credit card.

There are restrooms at this landing. There is a $5/car cash only parking fee paid to Big Oak Campground.

Bring water, snack/lunch, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, shoes that can get wet.

Trip duration varies depending on water/weather conditions and group. Return time is estimated.
