New! Ranger Coves

Join us for a fun kayaking adventure exploring coves filled with nesting Cattle Egrets, Cormorants, Anhinga and Little Blue Herons. Osprey chicks are starting to poke their little heads up out of the nest. On warm days you're sure to see a turtles sunning on broken logs and an occasional alligator cruising through the cypress trees. Fragrant water lilies, yellow water primrose, purple pickerweed and other colorful flowers are in bloom.

We'll kayak along wooded island shorelines with Giant Grass and Cattails. Bring lunch or a snack for break on a sandy beach where we can watch Bald Eagles and Osprey scoping out lunch possibilities.

We'll launch from a Fred L. Day Boat Landing. There are no facilities at the landing. Plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early for those renting kayaks/gear. If bringing your own kayak, plan to arrive with enough time to launch by 10 am.

$35/person to rent kayak/gear- includes kayak, paddle, PFD, whistle and we bring to landing. Call 843-697-2812 by Wednesday, April 29, 2026 for kayak rental. Rentals are paid in advance and provided by Blueway Adventures.

$15/person if bringing your own kayak/gear (BYOE). Whistle and PFD required (SCDNR). You can bring cash day of paddle or call 843-697-2812 to prepay with credit card.

Water, snack, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, shoes that can get wet.

Kayaks 12' and longer are recommended.
