About us

Each group is separate decides how to run for itself (zoom, in-person, etc.) Please refer to the specific event for the details and instructions.

We are a diverse, inclusive group of NVC teachers, students, supporters, and friends located in the Triangle Area of North Carolina, U.S.A. We have some additional information about our group on http://www.trinvc.org/ .
Our Intention: To support each other in connecting compassionately through the practice of NVC.
What is NVC? It stands for Non-Violent Communication, as inspired by the work and lives of MLK, Jr and Ghandi, but developed by Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D.
There is a lot on the web and on Youtube to orient you if you are interested, especially some great videos of Marshall describing or engaging in the NVC process.
From the http://cnvc.org website:
"
NVC begins by assuming that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies—whether verbal or physical—are learned behaviors taught and supported by the prevailing culture. NVC also assumes that we all share the same, basic human needs, and that each of our actions are a strategy to meet one or more of these needs.
"
NVC attempts to answer the question of how we can stay connected within our own integrity while reaching out and finding ways to connect with everyone's needs, hopefully resulting in strategies that bring the most peace, the most harmony, and the most authenticity.

An online NVC Workshop and Fundraiser
·OnlineOnlineDeepening the Legacy, Supporting the Journey
Join us for a 2-hour online NVC workshop on February 10, 2026, to support the CALF Certification Fund.
Why this CALF Online Fundraiser Matters: The Candidates/Community Active Learning Forum (CALF) is more than just a training program; it is a global "living laboratory" dedicated to preserving the raw, transformative energy of Marshall Rosenberg's original vision. The 9 Day International NVC Immersion in Shipman, Virginia is unique because it focuses on the three prongs of certification—knowing, living, and sharing NVC—within a high-trust, co-created community. It provides a rare space where seasoned assessors and certification candidates (and others immersed in NVC) work side-by-side, moving beyond theory into a deep, "giraffe juice" immersion of authentic presence.
What You'll Experience: This 2-hour workshop includes opening connection, a 45-minute experiential breakout session, and closing integration. You'll have the opportunity to choose one of three sessions, each led by certification candidates Lynn, Sasha, and Neal:
- Are we really free to choose no matter what? (Lynn)
- The Pulse Behind the Pain: Accessing Life Energy Through Mourning (Sasha)
- The Gift of Good Enough: Freedom from Perfectionism (Neal)
Your Impact: By attending this online workshop and fundraising event, you aren't just practicing NVC; you are actively removing the financial barriers that stand between dedicated practitioners and their path to certification. Your contribution to the CALF Certification Fund ensures that the next generation of NVC leaders can attend the CALFING 2026 9-day immersion (March 20–29), regardless of their financial circumstances.
Workshop Schedule (February 10, 2026):
