Let’s ride the Bruce Freeman Trail

The Bruce Freeman Rail Trail extends from the Lowell/Chelmsford line near Cross Point and
Rt. 3, through Chelmsford Center, to the intersection of Route 27 and Route 225 in
Westford. The trail continues south through Carlisle and Acton passing historical sites and
conservation land. It traverses woods, wetlands, open fields, recreational areas, and
shopping areas. The trail has a 10-foot wide pavement with a 2-foot wide packed shoulder
on each side. The trail is 15 miles long (From Lowell to the current terminus in West
Concord).
The Bruce Freeman Rail Trail is a rail trail through the communities of Lowell, Chelmsford,
Westford, Carlisle, Acton, Concord, Sudbury, and Framingham in Massachusetts —
following the 25-mile route of the old New Haven Railroad Framingham & Lowell line. The
trail has a 10-foot wide pavement with a 2-foot wide packed shoulder on each side.
Pleas make sure to checkck your tires and that your bike is in good riding condition. Pack a lunch and snacks. We’ll stop forr water breaks along the way and find a placement to have lunch.

1. For safety reasons you must wear a helmet to participate in this ride.
2. Make sure that your bike is in good working condition.
3. Alcohol consumption is prohibited during this big event.
4. This is not a guided tour.
5. The organizers of this event are not tour guides. We make no claims for our
   expertise.
