Save the date...details to follow but we will meet in downtown Thomasville at 9:30. We will check out the very unique and historic BL Makers Market (12 E. Guilford St.) where over 300 artists have their various hand-crafted wares on display in this really neat 19th century little office building where all payments were once distributed to the large furniture manufacturing workforce. Apparently, even during the Great Depression, this little Southern railroad stop town was doing so well that the then President of the U.S.A (FDR) contacted the company owner (Mr. Finch) for recommendations on how to get the national economy back up and going: Made in USA Store | BL Maker's Market | Thomasville
We will then walk a hundred feet over to the Thomasville Emporium (12 Commerce St.) which is much larger and also fronts Main Street and hosts The Daily Grind Cafe. Afterwards for lunch, we will head over to the nearby S&S Grill (21 W. Main St.) for a classic Southern fried lunch complete with gravel parking area and railroad track frontage: Facebook
