Build for Accessibility with Peter Ingersoll

Details

The goal of website accessibility is to ensure that everyone can access and use websites, mobile apps, and other online tools, regardless of their abilities. This includes people with a range of disabilities, such as sensory, intellectual, learning, and physical disabilities.
Accessibility for websites is a vital but sometimes seemingly challenging task. However, when we break it down into its components, creating accessible sites does not have to be so challenging. If we set up a strong foundation, understand the basic principles, know what our tools are capable of, and (most importantly) practice better habits, then accessibility becomes much more, well, accessible!
This presentation is a practical demonstration of how to actually build accessible content using WordPress. The demonstration will refer to specific accessibility topics and how to apply them to the page creation process. We will provide plenty of resources so attendees can further develop their skills. Our one hour presentation will, hopefully, be enlightening and inspire you to make accessibility part of your WordPress skills and process.
