Mike Erwin (Blender) on Blender and the Cross-Platform C++ Puzzle

Details
NOTE THE NEW LOCATION! Align Technology has moved to a location just off the intersection of highways 540 and 40, which should be more convenient to most people. On August 8th, we're excited to have Mike Erwin of Blender speaking to us. Here is the talk description:
I'll talk about C++ from perhaps 3 viewpoints:
- what we use C++ for internally, when most of Blender is C and Python
- how we integrate 3rd-party C++ libraries
- platform issues, balance between including everybody and setting a reasonable tech baseline. GHOST (our platform layer) is all C++
Hope to see you there! We will also be implementing C++ trivia and other diversions to keep things interesting in the leadup to the beginning of the talk, for those who arrive early.
Also, Align wants to take a few photos of the meetup for their HR/recruiting efforts, with the theme of 'Hey look at the cool events we're hosting here at Align'. Seems like the least we can do for our generous host so while it is not obligatory, I hope you will sign a release and let them use you (anonymously) in the photo shoot. (The 'photo shoot' is just an HR guy taking a few photos on his phone.) If you do not want to be in a photo that is ok and will be accommodated, please come anyway.
Doors open at 6:00PM, the talk starts at 6:30, followed by socializing until 8-8:30PM. Pizza and beer/soda will be provided by Align Technology. Thanks also to our community sponsor, CppCon. See you there!
