Carolyn Maxton, CPA, of Pittard Perry & Crone will share tips on accounting for the creative entrepreneur. We will discuss tax deduction practices, home-based businesses, and other facets of appropriate bookkeeping and accounting for your creative projects and businesses.
This will be an informal talk. However, to prepare for answering your questions, let's pose some of them before the event so Carolyn can gather the appropriate information to answer your questions.
A fee of $10 will be charged for non-dues paying members and guests.
Dues paying members will pay $5 for the meeting.
Please be kind and order food from our host venue. You can get dinner, salads, piecemeal, desserts, beverages, by the piece, by the meal, by the ounce! There are lots of choices!
Your organizer has worked with Carolyn for creative business tax questions and both personal and business tax preparation over a number of years. Though she does not state a specialty in creative business, she has served your organizer well in this regard and has graciously accepted the invitation to share her knowledge with us on this date.

Carolyn is a shareholder in the Raleigh East office of Pittard Perry & Crone. She provides tax planning services for individuals and closely-held businesses. She has extensive experience working with clients in the construction and real estate industries. A long-time resident of Raleigh, Carolyn has also worked with several local nonprofit organizations.
Carolyn joined Pittard Perry & Crone, Inc. in January 2010 when the firm merged with Whitley, Maxton and Company, PLLC (in which she was a partner). She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
Carolyn has celebrated Thanksgiving on Sunset Beach for the past seventeen years and hopes to do so for the next seventeen. Carolyn enjoys fall football season cheering for the Tar Heels and on occasion the Ohio State Buckeyes to maintain peace in the family.
