**Hey Triangle Do-Gooders friends!**

I’m not sure how many of you are still actively checking this group since we moved our events to be officially hosted on the [ActivateGood.org volunteer platform](https://volunteer.activategood.org/) \- but we wanted to reach out and share that\, since we’re now hosting our volunteer activities at ActivateGood\.org\, we’re going to be phasing out this Meetup\.com group by early May\.

**IMPORTANT: What we need you to do before end of April:**

* **Make sure you’re [on our email list ](https://activategood.us14.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=67566952e5eeb8c57cf8132c0&id=2ba090d66d)**to get alerts about upcoming volunteer needs and events! Email is the best way for us to stay connected after the Meetup group closes!
* Browse and **sign up for volunteer opportunities** on our new platform here ([https://volunteer.activategood.org/](https://volunteer.activategood.org/)), and / or join Activate Good at one of our special [Learn and Serve events](https://activategood.org/take-action/learn-and-serve/) (group opportunities where we learn about / discuss an issue then serve together!).

**Q: Why are you closing the Meetup group?**
**A:** The Triangle Do-Gooders Meetup was started over 10 years ago as an official arm of Activate Good. We originally used Meetup.com as a platform to organize volunteers because at the time, we didn’t have other technology to help keep us organized! Since Activate Good grew and evolved over time, we needed a new and improved volunteer management system with more features. We switched over to our new platform in 2022, and since COVID-19 had slowed down what we could do on Meetup.com anyway (and because it’s challenging for our small team to organize people on two platforms), we made the decision at that time to start moving things over to that platform.

**Q: Wait, what is Activate Good again?**
**A:** Activate Good is a 501c3 tax exempt nonprofit that mobilizes volunteers to support hundreds of causes in the Triangle region. We connect individuals, groups, youth and families, businesses, and others to hundreds of community needs, as well as host special programs benefiting Title 1 schools and more! **Q: You mean Activate Good has volunteer projects for youth ages 5-18 also?!**
**A:** Heck yes we do! Our Youth Volunteer Corps hosts service projects for ages 11-18, and our Activate Kids group hosts service projects for families with youth ages 5-10. Got kiddos? **Q: I work at a company that wants to give back. Does Activate Good partner with Businesses for employee volunteering and social responsibility initiatives?!**
**A:** Glad you asked -- Yes! If you didn’t already know, Activate Good has partnered with over 150 local businesses, big and small, to help make it easier for them to engage in social impact. We’ve got networking events for businesses, and can also partner to plan big team-building projects (on site or off site)!
