Lecture Lounge - Third Parties and Election Reform

Details

Come join for the soft-launch of Lecture Lounge!

We'll be hosting a moderated panel discussion with representatives from the Forward Party, Justice for All Party, and Libertarian Party to discuss our current political moment, third party participation, and election reform. This discussion will come on the heels of the NC legislature introducing a bill to ban ranked choice voting, shorten early voting, and amend absentee ballot ID rules.

  • Patrick Newton, State Chair of Forward Party
  • Italo Medilus, State Chair of Justice For All Party
  • Brad Hessel, Chair of Wake County Libertarian Party

What is Lecture Lounge? After two and a year half years, the Triangle Heterodox Club is evolving. Starting in May, we'll be launching Lecture Lounge, which provides lectures from area professors and community members at area bars, breweries, and other venues. In particular, we have a mission-driven goal of supporting the work of adjunct professors, postdocs, and others who are not always properly recognized for their work, with 70% of proceeds going to lecturers. This event is a soft-launch and will be free, but please do register for a ticket at the website.
