Triangle Java User Group Monthly Meeting

Details
Triangle Java User Group (TriJUG) Monthly Meeting 3rd Monday of the Month
Speaker: Phillip Rhodes
Topic: Introduction to OpenNLP
Abstract: Learn how to develop applications that work with natural language using the open-source Apache OpenNLP library. We'll cover the important primitive operations needed to develop natural language applications, including Sentence Detection, Tokenization, Part-Of-Speech Tagging, Chunking and Parsing, and how to train models for these operations. We'll also look at Document Classification, and, time permitting, a surprise bonus topic.
Basic Info: The Apache OpenNLP library is a machine learning based toolkit for the processing of natural language text.
It supports the most common NLP tasks, such as tokenization, sentence segmentation, part-of-speech tagging, named entity extraction, chunking, parsing, and coreference resolution. These tasks are usually required to build more advanced text processing services. OpenNLP also includes maximum entropy and perceptron based machine learning.
