Rich Kourtz, Principle Operations Engineer at BitSight Technologies, has a diverse career including positions in software engineering (NuoDB), system architecture (Demandware/Nokia/Verisign), and as a nuclear reactor operator. 7:15-8:00 "Challenges of Realtime Monitoring of Kubernetes and Microservices at Scale across Hybrid Cloud Environments" - Bryan Jasper, SignalFx

Architectures for modern software applications and services are evolving. The shift from monolithic to microservices comprised of containers, orchestration management platforms, and serverless computing changes the requirements of a monitoring solution. How do you monitor your applications as containers are increasingly short-lived, service capacity is added on-demand, or a new job is started in ever-changing infrastructure? Bryan Jasper Bio:
For the last 29 years Bryan has not applied his Physics degree at all. Instead, he found joy in a wide range of software development fields, such as machine vision, content management, and enterprise Java application architecture. Recently, he has been focusing on Application Performance Management at companies such as Dell Software, Dynatrace, and CA Technologies. Bryan is now at SignalFx, where he helps customers transition from monolithic architectures to containers and microservices.
