6:15-8:00: The Adventures of React.Component: An introduction to React Lifecycle and Composition

Abstract: The life of React.Component and the skills it gains along the way.... This talk will focus on the lifecycle of React Components and different ways to compose them together to share logic. We will go over each of the 9 lifecycle methods, when they are called, and what you can do in each. We will also cover using Hight Order Components (HOC), renderProps, or child functions to extend the functionality of components.

Speaker: Doug Miller is a previous network administrator turned software engineer. He currently works at Citrix as a Sr. Software Engineer developing front-end applications for ShareFile. He has a strong passion for everything JavaScript, and the past few years has focused on using React and React Native to build complex applications.
