Welcome to Rust! Introductions and Lightning Talks

Details
Come to the first meeting of Triangle Rustaceans! We're a group of triangle-area Rust afficionados of all levels of skill and experience. We will begin with introductions, and a brief round table discussion to get a feel for who we are, and what the group's interests are, followed by lightning talks, and community Q&A.
All people attending Triangle Rustacean events agree to abide by the Rust Code of Conduct. (https://www.rust-lang.org/en-US/conduct.html)
Lightning talks
If you have experience with Rust, come prepared to present a five minute lightning talk on the rust-related topic of your choosing. If you've never given a lightning talk before, here are some suggestion topics:
- A brief introduction to your favorite language feature or library. How it works and why it's cool.
- A demo of something you've done with Rust.
- A description that's difficult to do with Rust, and how to work around it. These can be great, but keep your points constructive.
- "Best practice" recommendations on useful development patterns.
You don't need to be an expert to give a lightning talk, but you do need to be concise. Five minutes can go by quickly.
We firmly believe that everyone has a lightning talk in them! If you're having trouble finding yours, message one of the organizers, and we'll be glad to help you flesh it out.
Q&A
If you are new to Rust, or struggling with the learning curve, bring your questions, and your code and we'll do our best to help you out during the Q&A session. All questions are welcome.
